According to a Kagoshima prefectural official, the Yakushima Airport Management Office received a call from the US military Wednesday afternoon seeking an emergency landing at Kagoshima Airport.
The spokesman from Kagoshima prefecture did not say if the request originated from the US Marines or the Air Force.
