“After a long and courageous battle with cancer, she transitioned peacefully surrounded by her loved ones,” read a heartfelt statement from her family, shared with NPR by Ash’s publicist. “Erica was an extraordinary woman and a gifted entertainer who touched countless lives with her sharp wit, humor, and boundless enthusiasm. Ash graduated from Emory University with a premed degree. But was drawn to the performing arts from a young age. After completing her studies, she moved to Japan, where she embarked on a career as a model, singer, and actor.

Christopher Landon, who directed Ash in the film We Have A Ghost, wrote, “Erica Ash was a light. Beautiful, funny, beyond talented. I was blessed to work with her and call her my friend. My heart goes out to her family and friends right now.”
